Kerrville VA Medical Center to Begin Vaccinating Veterans

COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic scheduled for Saturday(s)

(KERRVILLE, TX) - The Kerrville VA Medical Center will administer Pfizer's COVID vaccinations to enrolled Veterans 70 years of age or older on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Veterans may schedule an appointment by contacting the Call Center at (877) 537-7348 at the Kerrville VA Medical Center located at 3600 Memorial Boulevard.
"Large scale vaccination is the key to ending the disruption of COVID-19. My team won't rest until we've vaccinated every veteran enrolled in our health care system," said Medical Center Director, Christopher Sandles. "I ask that our nation's heroes show their bravery by getting vaccinated, leading this nation as they have so many times before."
Proper identification is required in order to verify enrollment and scheduling for the second dose (approximately 21 days after the first). Both vaccines are required for maximum efficacy. The vaccinations are only for enrolled Veterans and does not include caregivers or family members.
Veterans are encouraged to plan accordingly for an extended wait time depending on how busy the clinic will be.
Clinical staff will be available to Veterans for assistance throughout the vaccination process. The most common side effects for the Pfizer vaccine are injection site pain, tiredness, and headache. Most side effects go away within 48 hours.

All;

We began vaccinating outpatient Veterans on Wednesday, 6 JAN 2021 and have been gaining momentum, vaccinating more each day and will continue to do so until all enrolled Veterans who want the vaccination, receive two doses.
Please forward this email to other Hill Country Veterans 70 years of age, or older, and let know them know we offer a Saturday vaccination clinic in additional to Monday – Friday (no clinic slated on 18 JAN 2021 – Martin Luther King Observation).
On Saturdays, the Kerrville VA Medical Center (KC) Canteen Entrance will be the way in and out; we will have two locations for vaccinations and; KC staff will be placed throughout the facility to help Veterans find their way. We request only the Veteran come to the clinics, unless they have a mobility situation and require assistance, and not arrive more than a few minutes early for the scheduled appointment to avoid crowding.
Thank you, Lance
