I hope everyone had a great Holiday season!! The New Year is the time to again hit the ground running to improve your posts membership and activities. Remember to get involved in your community activities and that will help us all 'Put the American Legion" to the forefront of community thinking and events.
We
have three posts that have not turned in their Post Certification
Forms (copy sent to me) thus they have not received their 2023
membership packets.
(Post 008, Post 013, and Post 298). Need
to get this matter resolved quickly.
Saturday, March 18, 2023 is our 21st District Conference, to be held at the Kerrville Memorial Post 208 in Kerrville. I don't have an adjutant at this time so will work on the Registration forms and Agenda schedule in the near future to get the information out to all posts. Mark your calendars now and start making plans. We will also have a Meet and Greet time on Friday evening March 17, 2023, at Post 208.
ORATORICAL: We have Post 313 in Boerne that has a contestant that won at the Post level11 Are t-here any other posts that conducted Oratorical contests this year? Need to know ASAP so w can have the District contest, if needed. Next level will be the 4th Division Level. Please let me know otherwise we'll go with the winner from Boerne.
A lot of posts aren't staying very active from what I have been hearing. I apologize for not being able to get to more posts this past year but will try to make a few posts this year before the July Department Conference. I've had a lot of personal issues on my plate which has precluded the amount of travel time I had available, but will strive to get the District headed in the right direction with the remainder of the time I have left as commander. But that being said, I also need your assistance in these matters to help the district overall.
I
will close for now and get back in touch when I have the meeting
agenda available. Please work with your members to keep them involved
and if they haven't come to post in awhile, call them to see how they
are doing.
