Veteran County Service Officer

Good morning. More information on Blue Water Navy. Please see the attached pdf files. Thank you, District Manager, Gary Ivy for passing along the information.

Sending information to share with you and Veteran stakeholders that was provided to us by the Waco VA Regional Office:

Recently, Congress expanded the geographic limits where exposure to Agent Orange is considered presumed.  Veterans who served on vessels within 12 nautical miles seaward from the demarcation line of waters of Vietnam and Cambodia as defined in Public Law 116-23 (Blue Water Navy) between January 9, 1962 and May 7, 1975 are presumed to have been exposed to herbicides such as Agent Orange and may be entitled to service connection for conditions related to that exposure.

Exposure to Agent Orange carries a presumption of service connection for a list of specific conditions as listed in 38 Code of Federal Regulations: Section 3.309(e).

The Fact Sheet attached contains additional details and this list of conditions.

We are requesting your assistance in sharing this important information with your local stakeholders. A copy of the Fact Sheet on Blue Water Navy as well as a copy of the Press Release issued by VA are attached.

Please feel free to reproduce these materials and/or share them electronically.
